THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER – Michiel Huisman is headed for Netflix.

The Game of Thrones favorite has been tapped to star in the streaming giant’s The Haunting of Hill House reboot.

Ordered straight to series, the 10-episode drama is a modern reimagining of Shirley Jackson’s classic 1959 novel. The story centers on four people living in an 80-year-old mansion.

Huisman will take on the role of Steven Crane, the oldest Crane sibling and a published writer of supernatural books — including a memoir about his family’s time living at Hill House.

Mike Flanagan (Absentia, Oculus) will write, direct and executive produce the Paramount Television drama alongside producing partner Trevor Macy. Amblin TV’s Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank will also exec produce.

The Haunting of Hill House was adapted twice for the big screen: in 1963, and in 1999 as The Haunting with Liam Neeson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Owen Wilson and Lili Taylor. The latter grossed more than $177 million at the box office.

Huisman has become quite the in-demand leading man since his breakout role as Daario Naharis on HBO’s Game of Thrones. His credits include Orphan Black, Nashville, Treme as well feature The Age of Adaline. He’s repped by UTA, Authentic Talent and Literary Management and attorney Frank Stewart.

VARIETY – Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Michiel Huisman will star in the romantic drama “Irreplaceable You.”

Veep” helmer Stephanie Laing will direct from a script by Bess Wohl.

The film follows Abbie and Sam, soul mates who were destined to be together until death got in the way.

Jonathan Tropper and Farah Abushwesha are producing the movie, with The Exchange handling international sales. Production is set to start sometime next month.

Mbatha-Raw has a busy year ahead of her, starting with Disney’s highly anticipated, live-action “Beauty and the Beast” reboot, which opens on March 17. She will then appear in the untitled “Cloverfield” sequel “God Particle” — opposite David Oyelowo — and Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time” adaptation. Mbatha-Raw was most recently seen in the gun-control film “Miss Sloane” with Jessica Chastain.

Huisman cut his teeth on the TV circuit, appearing in shows such as David Simon’s “Treme” and “Nashville,” before landing the role of Daario Naharis, the hired gun and love interest of Emilia Clarke’s character on “Game of Thrones.” He was most recently seen in “The Age of Adaline” and “The Invitation.”

He can also be seen on the Discovery Channel’s “Harley and the Davidsons.”

THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER – The film, set in the aftermath of World War II, follows a journalist who forms a bond with the eccentric Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.

Game of Thrones star Michiel Huisman will star opposite Lily James in The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.

The story is set in the aftermath of World War II and follows a journalist Juliet Ashton (James) who decides to write about the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, a book club formed on Guernsey Island during wartime. It begins when she receives a letter from a resident named Dawsey (Huisman), a farmer on the island. She starts writing letters to the book club, and eventually travels to the island to meet them, and write a book about the book club they formed.

Mike Newell will direct the project from a script by Don Roos and Tom Bezucha. The film, which is financed by StudioCanal, is based on the bestselling book of the same name by Annie Barros and Mary Ann Shaffer. The 2008 novel was written as a series of letters and reached the number one position on the New York Times Best Seller List for paperback.

Paula Mazur and Mitchell Kaplan from The Mazur/Kaplan Company and Blueprint Pictures’ Graham Broadbent and Pete Czernin will produce.

Huisman most recently appeared in cult horror hit The Invitation, The Age of Adaline opposite Blake Lively and Wild with Reese Witherspoon. The versatile actor also has several films in post including The Ottoman Lieutenant with Ben Kingsley. I wasn’t sure whether to post this or not since its a rumor BUT it keeps coming up on the comic book movie new sites.
